Pool Project 2010

The pool project at our house in Phoenix has officially begun. After months of planning, organizing and budgeting, the actual steps have begun to get the pool in place. This week there is a lot happening, including layout, digging, plumbing, rebar and electric. Our hope is that by mid-May the pool will be ready for visitors. We won't quite have all the landscaping done at that point, but the main project, the pool, will be done. So pack your suitcases and plan your visit to the Hurley Getaway and Retreat.

Here are a couple pictures of the progress so far, which I will continue to update as the weeks progress. As I write this there are three men in the backyard digging a gigantic hole for the pool, so those pics will follow shortly. Enjoy!

This is the blank canvas. The green you see it actually where Kevin spent two days hacking down the massive weeds that had grown over the past few months. We chose not to document that with a picture since it was slightly embarrassing.

It is difficult to see, but this was taken after the first person came and painted the layout on the ground. It is in orange spray paint. Not very exciting, I know, but it is a step in the process we had to do to reach the final product. Next time I post there will be much more evidence that some work has been done.
