Time flies...

With so many changes in our lives, I have gone almost a complete year without updating the blog. I simply got so busy living life that I didn't have much time to write about it. Last time I wrote we were in Ohio, waiting for the list of bases where we might spend the next three years and I was working full-time at HRTC. We were worried about selling our house, where we might be moving and if I'd be able to find a job.

10 months later we have a whole new list of worries and a lot to catch you up on. Kevin and I have now been in Phoenix, AZ for 6 months. We managed (by the grace of God) to sell our house in Middletown, OH, and get a wonderful deal on a foreclosure property in Phoenix. We are now settling into the new home, putting some paint on the walls, drawing up plans for the pool and trying to figure out where the baby is going to sleep.

That's right! I am officially 16 weeks pregnant today and will be expecting the newest Hurley sometime around July 24th. We find out in three weeks if the baby will be a boy or a girl and then the real planning will begin. Kevin and I have the right mixture of being excited/scared about our transition into parenthood. While we are excited to meet the little guy (or girl), we also have this sense of time running out for us to enjoy our lives being just the two of us. That's normal, right?

Kevin is loving his newest assignment at Luke AFB. He is in charge of the ADAPT program, which is the drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. He seems to be adapting well to being an officer and a doctor rather then a resident and student. While I think it was a little overwhelming for him at first - the responsibility, having people answer to him and being in charge of something - he now constantly becoming more and more confidant in his work and is enjoying the experience.

As for my work situation, HRTC decided to keep me on part time from Phoenix. I am managing the annual fund, working with sponsors and researching new grant opportunities. It was initially an adjustment working from home, especially in a city where I don't know anyone, but I now love the ability to set my own schedule. After a three month probationary period, my boss has decided to definitely keep me on until the end of June. At that point the budget for the next season will be done and he will determine if it will work to keep me on. I'm hoping to continue working with them as long as possible, so we will just have to see what happens.

That is the quick update late on a Saturday night. I will try to do a few more updates over the next week, including some updated pics of our new house now that we have finally gotten some furniture and hung some pictures. More soon....
